The story
Hudson O’Neal swept the preliminary nights. He led all 45 laps of Thursday’s Cowboy Classic, then passed Justin Wells on lap 23 of Friday’s 40-lap Tribute to Don and Billie Gibson. The two $10,000 victories extended O’Neal’s season-opening streak at Lucas Oil Speedway to four wins in four starts.
O’Neal led Saturday’s opening 19 laps before Jonathan Davenport moved ahead on lap 20. O’Neal briefly reclaimed the lead for laps 45 through 47, but Davenport returned to the front and remained there through lap 68. Pierce made the decisive move on lap 69 and controlled the final 32 circuits.
Davenport finished second, followed by O’Neal, Devin Moran and Daulton Wilson. Pierce’s second Show-Me 100 victory came eight years after his 2017 title, and the $75,000 winner’s share established a new event record.
